Level 50 General
MW3 Level 80 Guide
Need help getting to level 80 in the quickest possible way in MW3? This is the thread is dedicated to doing just that. Post below are the tricks and tips to get to level 80 faster than anyone else.
The level cap in MW3 is level 80.
What game modes should you be playing in?
Free For All is one of the best game modes to reach level 80 quickly.
Challenges
Challenges give extra bonuses in xp. Grab the bonuses hanging low from the tree.
Sniping won't get you to level 80 fast
Very few snipers can snipe fast and effectively to achieve as many kills as someone with assult.
Strike Packages are Key
Strike packages are key because it produces kills without you physically having to go face to face with the enemy.
Best maps to level up in the quickest are the smallest maps
Smallest maps are the best maps to gain quick xp as you'll meet opponents much faster.
Silencer or No silencer?
Always go without a silencer. If your good, you want to attract attention so more players can find you on the map. With people being attracted to you, set diversion tactical grenades and set traps for easy picking. Silencer will allow you to sneak around the map but it reduces range and slows action down around your player.
Lots more to be added to this thread. As of now its basic as the game is not out.
Comment and add to this guide!

Wow really great tips. I never thought about silencer that way. You want people to be coming to you so no silencer lol. Thanks for all the tips. I'm going to need as many as I can get with a level 80 cap!

you want to lvl fast!
If you want to lvl fast you need to play S&D. It gives you the most points per game than anything else. What ever the cod you will always see the person with a sub machine gun with sime sort of dps or rapid fire enhancement on there wepon at the top. Reson being the sub machine guns normally have greatest mobility and tends to shoot faster than any other types of wepons. Mobility and dps in a gun are by far the most important. Perks should be a quick reload, running ability, and a wepon dps or mobility enhancing ability. If you want more tips add or contact me on xbl. Gamertag is Naded Neighbor

S&D is definately not the best for leveling up. Play a game of domination and if your good youll get 10000+ almost every game

i agree with everything astanos said. i normally play "solo". i don't belong to clan or group, so i generally look for ways to maximize my experience through solo means in most CoD games.
in gun challenges, i'm not sure how many levels there are, but i hardly ever went past level 4 in any gun. the reason being is that it's easier to keep getting the level 1-3 experience (75 kills total for 1500 xp i think) than level 4+ (which is 150 total kills - 75 more kills for 1000 xp). so, once i finish levels 1-3, i switch guns. it basically works out, i can do every gun while ignoring sniper and get to 51. on double xp weekends, it's even faster and could leave out the shotgun category if i wanted.
in black ops, you get xp for perk challenges. so i tried to group my perk challenges together like lightweight, steady aim, and ninja in order to finish off the knife challenges or scavenger, warlord, and ninja for grenades and silent kill challenges. it makes things a little faster to work on multiple challenges at the same time.
never play s&d unless you're playing to gauge your skill or even become more skilled. the nature of s&d requires people to be either godly or careful. godly in that they can take out an entire team of (at the most) 6 people by themselves each round. realistically, most people play careful...that means that you'll have long games with everyone camping or being careful with few kills. it won't help your gun challenges at all. same goes for hardcore.
most of all, mercenary moshpit is pretty much the only game type i play. merc tdm nor free for all give as much points because there are no objectives. the objectives play a major part. first you get a ton of points for planting a bomb or helping to take a point. second, people go towards objectives...in other words, you get more kills because you know where the action will be, at the objectives. i've seen a few games with 100+ kills (apparently, my best ever was 75). in tdm and ffa, it's as random as it can get. another reason to play mercenary moshpit is because you generally avoid groups. good groups can and will own most normal games against a pick-up team. i've been in normal games where i've played 3 back to back games against different good groups...and that's after choosing another. that meant around 30 minutes wasted. not only do good groups just kill you, a lot will try to maximize points too by artificially extending the game. like in a game with rounds...they'll win the first round, let the other team win the second at the last moment, then win the last/tie-breaking round. you don't get points for dying a lot (especially if they're good enough to spawn trap/kill your team), but they will. mercenary remedies this. it levels out the playing field so that everyone's on a pick-up team. i'm by no means a skilled player, but by adding points from objectives, kills, challenge completions, contracts, and double xp weekend on a nuketown 24/7 game of probably demo or dom...i got a 50k+ (around or above level 40) game once (basically when all the planets aligned). there's no possible way anyone could get that in ffa or tdm. the best part is, you don't even have to win. but, check for yourself, go to playercard, select combat record, push right on the thumbpad until you get to matches tab and just look at your own record.
this is how i maximize my experience as a solo player. i'm sure groups have different tactics, philosophies, etc...all of which seem to work better since people who are in groups seems to max prestige first. i have yet to max prestige myself in any CoD game since i usually get bored.

In black ops its no question that s&d was the fastest way to gain xp ( assuming u can finish top three on any game mode ) I was at 556 points per minute on s&d on black ops and only at 280 on domination. And not to boast or anything but it was rare that I wasn't first or second on just about every domination game. So with that said I'm wondering if in mw3 have the point values for each game mode stayed the same? Do you still get 5x the points for a kill in s&d vs td? If thats the case then s&d will still reign as the fastest way to lvl. ( again this is all saying that u can actually finish top 3 on every game ) So if ur skills aren't the greatest don't play s&d and get 2 kills per game and wonder why your not leveling fast.

The best way to level up
Play kill confirmed in mw3 u get the points for killing and u take the tags and get 50 each unless u have double points u get like 10000 to 15000 u level up so fast it's not even funny btw use low kill streaks from support so u can keep getting them
