It is a small book packed with British castles such as Dunrobin, Hastings, Windsor, Pembroke and Edinburgh that are ticked off as they are visited. There are also features like spiral staircases, mullion windows, great halls, kitchens, dungeons and items often seen from battles, including swords and crossbows. Each of these things has a little bit of information explaining what they are and their significance. Again, these are ticked off in little star shaped boxes as they are observed.

There are two or three items per page with brightly coloured photographs, with ‘Top Spot’ for the more obscure sightings. The sightings also incur points that can be exchanged for a certificate from the publishers.

This is a brilliant series and I’m keeping this castles one myself (along with the Cathedrals one) to guide me through my British travels. Highly recommended for all ages.
